Older works emphasize the importance of portraiture and figure painting in the study of identity. Other works from this period also fixate on idealized beauty and Jacques Lacan's gaze. The frozen stares of beautiful women explore the feminist viewpoint of the male gaze, and the idea that women are objects to be viewed and admired. Some of these paintings are available for purchase.
