The human figure provides an endless outlet for artistic expression. Many of these paintings strive to visually articulate the innate and primitive emotion that connects us all. Hunger, fear, rage and pain are primal emotions that every living person and animal experiences, and they are vital in the expression of what it is to be alive. This body of work shows the importance of the figure and portrait and how it is used to study emotion, identity and sexuality. Other images show the figure's relationship to common objects and their connection to indulgence and personal image.
